The Problem

Why do hair stylists lose chair time to booking by DM?

A trim takes 30 minutes. A full balayage takes four hours. When clients book through DMs and WhatsApp they rarely say which, so you either squeeze a colour into a cut slot or leave a gap nobody fills. Then there is the client who booked Saturday at ten and never turned up. Tymeslot gives every service its own length, buffer and price, so the booking page only offers times that fit, and the long colour appointments can carry a deposit.

Why a bio link and a DM inbox don't protect a column

Running a column out of Instagram DMs works until it doesn't. Every enquiry needs an answer, the answer needs your diary, and none of it holds anyone to anything. A client who books a four-hour colour by message has put nothing down, so a no-show costs you the afternoon and the product you prepared.

Is Tymeslot GDPR compliant for hair stylists?

Hair stylists who use Tymeslot share no client's name or number with an ad network, because the booking page loads no advertising trackers or third-party analytics and bookings are stored in Germany. On tymeslot.app, Google reCAPTCHA loads once a client starts filling in the booking form, to block spam bookings; a self-hosted instance runs it only if you configure it. GDPR also covers how you keep client cards and colour formulas, which stay outside Tymeslot. A signed data processing agreement is included only with the Enterprise plan, not with Free or Pro. Keep allergy and skin test results out of the booking form, and self-host Tymeslot if you want the bookings on your own server.

Is Tymeslot salon software with a till and stock control?

No, Tymeslot is hair stylist booking software only: it takes the appointment, the deposit and the reminders, with no till, product stock, staff rotas or commission reports. That suits a freelance or self-employed stylist who rents a chair and takes payment for the service in person. A salon that needs a point of sale and stock control alongside the diary needs a salon platform.

How can hair stylists take a deposit to stop no-shows?

Hair stylists on Tymeslot Pro can set a fixed deposit on any service, such as €50 on a balayage, which the client pays through Stripe before the appointment is confirmed. The deposit goes to your own Stripe account, with a 0.5% platform fee on the managed service on top of Stripe's fees. Tymeslot charges one fixed amount per booking: it does not keep a card on file to charge a no-show fee later or take a percentage of the service. Put your cancellation terms in the service description, and refund from the dashboard in the same step if you cancel.
