What's new in Tymeslot 1.1

Tymeslot 1.1 is the first big feature release since launch. Until now the booking page did one thing well: it picked a time. It can now do a fair amount more before the meeting ever starts — gather what it needs to know, take payment, and tell the right people it happened. Here is what landed.

Ask the right questions up front

A time on the calendar is rarely all you need. You want to know what the call is about, which account someone is on, what they have already tried, whether they need anything sent ahead. That used to be an email thread that ran alongside the booking, and sometimes longer than the meeting itself.

Now you can add your own questions to any meeting type — a short text field, a longer answer, a dropdown of fixed options, whatever the meeting calls for. People answer them while they book, and the answers travel with the booking into your calendar and your inbox. Mark the ones that matter as required so nobody can skip them, and leave the rest optional. You walk into the meeting already knowing what it is about and what to prepare, and the back-and-forth before a call simply stops happening.

How custom questions work

Adding custom booking questions to a meeting type in Tymeslot

Add the questions you actually need, and mark the ones bookers can't skip.

Get paid when someone books

This is the one we had been wanting for a long time. You can take payment at the moment of booking, with Stripe checkout built straight into the booking page. A paid consultation, a lesson, a paid intro call — it is reserved and paid for in a single step, before the slot is held, with no invoice to write afterwards and no awkward reminder to send when it goes unpaid.

On the managed service it is ready to switch on. If you self-host, it is one configuration flag away, and the money flows through your own Stripe account — Tymeslot never sits between you and it. Either way the booker sees a clean checkout that matches the rest of the page, and you see a confirmed, paid booking land on your dashboard.

Zoom meetings, created automatically

Zoom joins the video integrations. Connect it once and Tymeslot creates a fresh Zoom meeting for every booking, then drops the join link into the calendar invite and the confirmation email — the same way it already does for Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. No copying links by hand, no reusing the same personal room for back-to-back calls, no booker left wondering where the meeting actually is.

It is the small kind of automation you stop noticing, which is the point: the link is simply always there, in the place the other person expects it.

A booking lands in Slack

Tymeslot can now post to Slack when a meeting is booked, cancelled, or rescheduled. Point it at a channel and your team sees new bookings where they already spend the day, instead of on a dashboard nobody remembers to open. For a sales team it is a live feed of demos coming in; for a support rota it is a heads-up before the call appears on a calendar. Nobody has to refresh anything, and nothing slips by because one person happened not to be looking.

Smaller things you will notice

A release is never only its headline features. The meeting-type editor now saves as you go, with a quiet status line in place of a save button you had to remember. The embedded booking widget sizes itself more reliably and gained a column layout for the narrow spaces it often ends up in. And the Quill and Rhythm booking pages are quicker to move through, with fewer steps between landing on the page and having a time held.

The rest of the changes are on the changelog. If any of this is useful, or there is something you wish Tymeslot did, tell us — a good deal of this release came straight from people who did.
