The Problem

Why do chiropractic clinics struggle with phone bookings?

A chiropractic day is made of many short appointments. Fifteen-minute adjustments run back to back, with a longer new patient exam or two in between, and patients want the slots before work, at lunch and after work. Every booking taken by phone interrupts an adjustment. Tymeslot lets patients book themselves into the right kind of slot, with adjustments offered every 15 minutes and new patient exams kept to the times and numbers you choose.

What a high-volume chiropractic diary needs

Short appointments leave no room for mistakes. If a new patient takes an adjustment slot, the exam overruns and every patient after them waits. If too many new patients book on one day, the history-taking and examinations crowd out the regular patients who keep the clinic going.

The other gap appears when a course of care ends. Patients who feel well stop booking, and maintenance visits are only made if booking one is easy. Tymeslot gives new patient exams, adjustments and maintenance visits their own meeting types, caps new patient exams per day, and lets a patient book a maintenance visit months ahead from a link in an email.

Features

Everything Chiropractors need. Nothing they don't.

Scheduling features shaped around how your practice works.

📅

New Patient Exams, Adjustments and Maintenance

Each kind of visit gets its own meeting type, duration and link. Keep adjustments private so only existing patients can book them, and show new patient exams on your public page.

⏰

Slots Every 15 Minutes

Set the slot interval to match short adjustments, so the booking page offers 8:00, 8:15 and 8:30.

✅

A Daily Cap on New Patients

Limit new patient exams per day, week or month. Once the cap is reached, the rest of that day stays open for adjustments.

🔔

Reminders Before Early Appointments

Send reminder emails at the times you choose, for example the evening before a 7:30 adjustment, so early slots are not lost to a forgotten alarm.

💳

Deposits for New Patient Exams

On Pro, take a fixed deposit when a new patient books an exam, paid into your own Stripe account. Adjustments can stay free to book.

🔐

Booking Pages Without Ad Trackers

Booking pages load no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics. On tymeslot.app, Google reCAPTCHA loads once a client starts the booking form, to block spam bookings. The managed service is hosted in Germany, and a clinic can self-host instead.

Data protection

Privacy and compliance for Chiropractors

A chiropractic booking can mention back pain, a recent injury or imaging results, and anything about a patient's health is special category data under GDPR. Tymeslot keeps the booking side lean: it collects only the questions you add, its booking pages load no advertising trackers, and the clinic can host it on its own server.

Hosted in the EU

The managed service runs on servers in Germany. Booking pages load no advertising trackers; Google reCAPTCHA loads once a client starts the booking form, to block spam bookings.

Data processing agreement

A signed data processing agreement (DPA) comes with the Enterprise plan. The Free and Pro plans do not include one.

Self-host for full control

Run Tymeslot on your own server with Docker, Cloudron or Railway, and booking data never leaves infrastructure you control.

No HIPAA business associate agreement

Tymeslot does not sign HIPAA business associate agreements on any plan. Practices covered by HIPAA should not use it for protected health information.

How self-hosting Tymeslot works

Before & After

See the difference

Same profession. Completely different scheduling experience.

Without Tymeslot

1 The phone rings during an adjustment and goes unanswered
2 Three new patients are booked on the same morning
3 At the end of a course, nobody books the next visit

With Tymeslot

1 Patients book 15-minute adjustments from your page at any hour
2 New patient exams stop at two a day
3 A maintenance link goes out after the last session of a course
Use Cases

Common scheduling scenarios

How other Chiropractors use Tymeslot every day.

Scenario 1

How do chiropractors take new patients without overrunning the day?

A new patient exam takes three times as long as an adjustment and involves history, examination and often a look at imaging. Two a day may be fine; five can wreck the schedule.

  • Create a "New patient exam" meeting type of 45 minutes on its own availability schedule, open only at the times you want exams.
  • Set a daily limit of two, so further new patients see the next day with room.
  • Ask whether they have recent X-rays or scan reports to bring (booking questions are a Pro feature on the managed service).
  • Take a fixed deposit on Pro, so an exam slot is not held by someone who never turns up.
Result: New patients book online at any hour, and no day carries more exams than you can do properly.
Scenario 2

How do chiropractors fill early, lunch and evening slots with adjustments?

Adjustment patients book around work, so the busiest times are the edges of the day and Saturday morning. Those slots should go to existing patients.

  • Make the "Adjustment" meeting type private and send its link to patients once their care plan is agreed.
  • Give it a 15-minute duration and a 15-minute slot interval on its own schedule with no buffer, open from 7:00 until 19:30 plus Saturday mornings. A 15-minute slot already includes changeover, so a buffer would only push the next adjustment to the following quarter hour.
  • Set a short minimum notice, such as 2 hours, so a patient can take a gap that opens the same day.
  • Busy times in your connected calendar, such as a lunch break or a school run, block those slots automatically.
Result: The edges of the day fill with adjustments booked by patients themselves, and the phone stays quiet.
Scenario 3

How do chiropractors keep patients coming back for maintenance visits?

When a course of care ends, patients who feel fine drift away. Tymeslot has no automatic recall, so the habit that works is sending a maintenance link at the last session of the course.

  • Create a "Maintenance visit" meeting type of 20 minutes with a booking horizon of 120 days, so patients can book a visit months ahead.
  • Send the link at the end of a course, or print it on the appointment card you hand over at reception.
  • Set a reminder three days before and another an hour before, since a visit booked months ahead is easy to forget.
  • If plans change, the patient moves the visit from their confirmation email.
Result: Maintenance visits get booked while the patient is still in the clinic's routine, and reminders bring them back on the day.

Intake questions

  • Have you seen a chiropractor before?
  • Do you have recent X-rays or scan reports you can bring?
  • Who referred you, if anyone?
  • Do you prefer early morning, lunchtime or evening appointments?

Adjustments run with no buffer and a 2-hour minimum notice so same-day gaps get filled, and maintenance visits use a 120-day horizon so patients can book well ahead. Notice, horizon and buffer are set on an availability schedule, so each of these meeting types needs its own schedule.

Intake questions and payments at booking are part of Pro on the managed service, and free when you self-host.

How to choose

What to check before you choose

  • Find out where client data is stored and which companies process it for the vendor.
  • Ask whether a signed data processing agreement comes with the plan you would buy.
  • If your practice is covered by HIPAA, confirm the vendor signs a business associate agreement.
  • Open the vendor's booking page in a fresh browser and see which third-party scripts it loads.
  • Decide whether you need notes and invoicing in the same tool, or scheduling alone.
  • Check that deposits and intake questions are on a plan you can afford.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Tymeslot GDPR compliant for a chiropractic clinic?

Tymeslot keeps chiropractors' patient bookings on EU servers in Germany, and its booking pages load no advertising trackers or third-party analytics. On tymeslot.app, Google reCAPTCHA loads once a client starts filling in the booking form, to block spam bookings; a self-hosted instance runs it only if you configure it. Tymeslot itself sets one session cookie and no advertising cookies. The clinic's own GDPR duties, such as consent, retention and who can see patient files and imaging, sit outside Tymeslot. The Enterprise plan includes a signed data processing agreement; Free and Pro do not. Clinics that want patient bookings on their own hardware can self-host.

Does Tymeslot replace chiropractic practice-management software?

No, a chiropractor still needs a records system next to Tymeslot, which is scheduling software that fills the diary and sends reminders but has no SOAP notes, care plans, X-ray storage or invoicing. Keep those in your practice-management or records system. Ask in the booking form only what helps you prepare, such as whether the patient is bringing imaging.

Will Tymeslot sign a HIPAA BAA for a US chiropractic office?

Tymeslot does not sign HIPAA business associate agreements on any plan, so a US chiropractic office that is a covered entity should not use it for protected health information. A booking that mentions back pain or recent imaging would be protected health information in such an office. Tymeslot is built and run in the EU, where clinics work under GDPR. If you are unsure whether HIPAA applies to your office, ask your own adviser.

How can chiropractors stop new patients missing their first exam?

Chiropractors using Tymeslot can take a fixed deposit through their own Stripe account when a new patient books an exam (a Pro feature on the managed service), and send reminders the evening before and an hour before. The exam is confirmed once the deposit clears. Patients move or cancel their visit from the confirmation email, which reopens the slot for someone else. There is no built-in cancellation deadline, so state yours in the meeting type's description.

How does Tymeslot compare with Cliniko for chiropractors?

Tymeslot does one job for chiropractors, online booking with reminders, where Cliniko is practice management software that also keeps treatment records and handles invoicing. Cliniko's pricing page starts at USD 45 a month for one practitioner, with a 30-day free trial. Tymeslot has a permanent free plan, a managed service hosted in Germany and a self-hosted version. Pick Cliniko if you want records and booking in one system; pick Tymeslot if your records already live somewhere else.

Can chiropractors self-host Tymeslot?

Yes, chiropractors can self-host Tymeslot on a clinic server or a rented one using Docker, Cloudron or Railway, and keep every patient booking under their own control. Nothing is held back in the self-hosted version: deposits, booking questions and analytics all work without a subscription, under the GNU AGPLv3 open source licence. Updates and backups then become the clinic's job.

Is there a free plan for chiropractors?

Yes, Tymeslot's free plan gives chiropractors unlimited bookings, separate meeting types for exams, adjustments and maintenance, 15-minute slot intervals, a daily cap on new patients, calendar sync and reminders. Deposits on new patient exams and the question about imaging need Pro (€9/month), which also adds booking analytics and automation. Self-hosted clinics get all of it free.

Which calendars and video tools can chiropractors connect to Tymeslot?

Tymeslot connects chiropractors' Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple iCloud and CalDAV calendars, and can add Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Jitsi links if you offer video consultations for new enquiries. Busy times in any connected calendar block those hours on your booking page, so a seminar or a day off never gets booked over. Patients never see what those events are.
