Confidential Scheduling Software for Lawyers
Prospective clients book a first consultation without their enquiry passing through advertising networks. You see who is asking before you accept.
Updated 5 October 2026
Why do lawyers need more care with online booking than most professions?
A booking for a first consultation already says something: that this person wants legal advice, from you, about a matter they may not have told anyone else about. On many booking pages that moment is shared with advertising and analytics scripts before the client has typed a word. Tymeslot loads none of them. Booking pages carry no advertising trackers or third-party analytics, the managed service runs in Germany, and a firm that wants the data on its own servers can self-host.
What a law firm needs from a booking page
Most booking tools assume that anyone who finds a free slot should get it. A law firm cannot work that way. Before you agree to meet a prospective client you may need to check for a conflict of interest, and some enquiries are simply not work you take on. Mainstream tools also treat a free 20-minute enquiry call and a paid hour of advice as the same kind of event, and leave existing clients to compete with strangers for the same slots.
Tymeslot handles each of those as a setting. A meeting type can require your approval, so the request waits until you have run your checks. A paid consultation can take a fixed fee through your own Stripe account when the client books. Meeting types for existing clients can be hidden from your public page and shared by direct link only. Intake questions stay short, because the detail of the matter belongs in your case file, not in a booking form.
Everything Lawyers need. Nothing they don't.
Scheduling features shaped around how your practice works.
Approve Before It Is Booked
Turn on approval for a meeting type and each request waits for your answer. The request email shows who is asking and their answers, so you can run a conflict check first. Requests you leave unanswered are released when the window you set runs out.
No Advertising Trackers
Booking pages load no advertising pixels and no third-party analytics. On tymeslot.app, Google reCAPTCHA loads once a client starts the booking form, to block spam bookings. On the managed service client details are stored in Germany, and only busy and free times are read from your calendar.
Fixed Consultation Fees
On Pro, connect your own Stripe account and charge a fixed fee for a paid consultation when the client books. The slot is confirmed once payment clears, and if you cancel from the dashboard you can refund in the same step.
Private Links for Existing Clients
Hide a meeting type from your public booking page and it is reachable only through its direct link. Existing clients book matter updates there, away from new enquiries.
Preparation Time Between Meetings
Set a buffer of up to 120 minutes between bookings on an availability schedule, so you have time to read the file before the next client and write up your attendance note after.
Self-Host Inside the Firm
Run Tymeslot on the firm's own server with Docker, Cloudron or Railway. Booking data then never reaches our infrastructure, and every feature is included at no cost.
Privacy and compliance for Lawyers
Whether someone has asked a lawyer for advice, and about what, can itself be confidential, and the communications that follow may be covered by legal professional privilege. Tymeslot keeps the booking side lean: it collects only what your form asks for, loads no advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and can run on the firm's own server.
Hosted in the EU
The managed service runs on servers in Germany. Booking pages load no advertising trackers; Google reCAPTCHA loads once a client starts the booking form, to block spam bookings.
Data processing agreement
A signed data processing agreement (DPA) comes with the Enterprise plan. The Free and Pro plans do not include one.
Self-host for full control
Run Tymeslot on your own server with Docker, Cloudron or Railway, and booking data never leaves infrastructure you control.
Only what you ask for
Clients share only the details your booking form asks for. Keep sensitive matters out of the form and in your own records.

How do lawyers take consultation requests and still run a conflict check?
A first enquiry should be easy to make, but you cannot accept it until you know who the other side is. Tymeslot lets the client pick a slot while you keep the final say.
- Create an "Initial enquiry" meeting type of 20 or 30 minutes and turn on approval, with a window of 24 or 48 hours to answer.
- Ask for the client's name, the name of any other party involved and the area of law (intake questions are a Pro feature on the managed service). That is enough for a conflict search and nothing more sensitive.
- Run the check against your records, then approve or decline from the request. The client gets a confirmation, or a polite decline, by email.
- If you do not answer before the window closes, the request is released and the slot opens again.
How do lawyers charge for a first consultation at the time of booking?
Many firms give a short free enquiry call and charge for a full hour of advice. Taking the fee when the client books saves an invoice and a reminder, and the client knows the cost from the start.
- Create a "Fixed-fee consultation" meeting type of 60 minutes and connect your Stripe account (a Pro feature on the managed service).
- Set the fee as a fixed price on the meeting type. The client pays when they book, and the slot is confirmed once payment clears.
- Put your cancellation terms in the meeting type's description. Tymeslot does not enforce a deadline, so you decide case by case.
- If you need to cancel, do it from the dashboard and refund the fee in the same step. Clients who need to move the meeting can reschedule from their confirmation email.
How do lawyers keep existing clients' meetings apart from new enquiries?
A client halfway through a matter should not have to compete with strangers for the one free hour on Thursday. A private meeting type with its own schedule keeps their time protected.
- Create a "Matter update" meeting type of 30 minutes and hide it from your public booking page.
- Give it its own availability schedule with shorter notice and a longer horizon than new enquiries get.
- Send the direct link to clients in your engagement letter or email signature.
- Offer video and phone as two locations on the same meeting type and let the client choose.

Intake questions
- Your full name, or your company's name
- Names of any other parties involved, so we can check for conflicts
- Which area of law is this about?
- Is there a deadline we should know about?
The other party's name is there for the conflict check; leave the facts of the matter for the consultation itself. The enquiry and the paid consultation can share an availability schedule, but matter updates use shorter notice and a longer horizon, so give them their own.
Intake questions and payments at booking are part of Pro on the managed service, and free when you self-host.

- See whether you can take a fee or retainer at booking, and on which plan.
- Try embedding the booking page on your firm's website.
