Parents book the next free slot themselves, so your lesson timetable stays packed and nothing gets lost in your messages.
Updated August 10, 2026
Most music teachers run 30 and 45-minute lessons back to back all afternoon. The teaching is the easy part. The admin is the WhatsApp message at 10 p.m., the handwritten timetable that no longer matches reality, and the parent who needs to move Thursday again. Tymeslot lets parents book the next open slot themselves, blocks your holidays before term starts, and keeps the timetable full without the message thread.
Calendly, Acuity, and Square Appointments were written for consumer service bookings, and a music timetable does not work like that. A 4 p.m. lesson runs straight into a 4:30, with no buffer between them. Parents send their booking requests late at night while putting the children to bed. Terms have a fixed number of teaching weeks with a half-term break in the middle. Generic tools either leave gaps you can't afford or take bookings into weeks you had already planned to be away.
The money adds up. One empty 30-minute slot at £25–£35 a lesson is £100–£150 of monthly income gone, and the WhatsApp thread you use to refill it pays nothing. Term fees and lesson packs are worse again, because most schedulers can't take the payment at booking at all. Tymeslot follows the teaching rhythm instead: tight consecutive slots, parents booking on behalf of a named student, whole weeks blocked for holidays, and the option to collect term fees or lesson-pack payments through Stripe before a block of lessons starts.
Scheduling features shaped around how your practice works.
Configure 30 or 45-minute lesson types with zero buffer time between slots so your timetable packs neatly from the first lesson to the last.
Parents book on behalf of their child and include the student's name in the booking form — so you always know who is arriving, not just who booked.
Mark school holidays, recital prep weeks, and breaks as unavailable in advance. Set how far ahead parents can book to prevent end-of-term scrambles.
Teaching remotely? Google Meet, Zoom, or MiroTalk links are generated automatically with every booking — no manual link-sharing before each session.
Parents and students receive reminder emails before each lesson, reducing no-shows without you having to send a single message.
Take term fees or lesson-pack payments via Stripe at the point of booking — parents pay once for a block of lessons, students book individual slots against it, and your timetable fills around a confirmed commitment.
Same profession. Completely different scheduling experience.

How other Music Teachers use Tymeslot every day.
Music lessons run in tight blocks — 30 or 45 minutes, one after another. A single misplaced booking creates an awkward gap that wastes the whole slot.
School holidays, exam weeks, and recital preparation all disrupt the normal lesson schedule. Communicating changes to every family individually is exhausting.
Cancellations are inevitable. Slotting in a makeup lesson without disrupting the rest of the timetable often takes more time than the lesson itself.
